Bin collection days are likely to change for many residents across Fareham borough later this year, according to Fareham Borough Council. The council is reorganising its waste collection routes ahead of the national Simpler Recycling rules, which come into force across England in March 2026 and aim to standardise what households can recycle.
The council also plans to introduce food waste collection bins across the borough, covering Fareham, Portchester, Stubbington, Hill Head, Titchfield, Park Gate and Warsash. Reorganising routes now means no further collection day changes will be needed once food waste collections begin.
Until new collection details are confirmed and communicated, residents should continue putting their bins out on their usual day. Up-to-date collection dates are available at fareham.gov.uk/bincalendar.
